Mr. Zouheir Chebl, Eng.
Vice President, Middle East
SNC-Lavalin International Inc.
Mr. Chebl, is an engineer with 17 years of experience in the fields of project
design and management, concession operation and management, and business development
on the international scene. He acquired international experience as senior
engineer in nuclear engineering during construction of the CANDU power stations
in the Republic of Korea, and as director of postal operations in Lebanon.
His experience, energy and people skills have enabled him to successfully
manage a team of more than 450 employees to ensure mail collection and delivery
in Lebanon. Following his promotion, in 2004, to the position of Vice-President
of Business Development in Eurasia and the Middle East for SNC-Lavalin International
Inc., Mr. Chebl provides general business development support for these regions
and assumes the additional, specific responsibility of promoting the development
of SNC-Lavalin’s markets in Iraq and Iran. Mr. Chebl speaks English,
French, and Arabic.
SNC-Lavalin in IRAN
In IRAN, SNC-Lavalin has been active in projects since the 1970s. In 1978,
it carried out engineering services and preparation of specifications and
tender documents for a 400 kV transmission line and substations project, and
later we provided basic engineering, cost estimate and EPC bid package for
Bid Boland II gas treating plant.
In Iran, SNC-Lavalin is maintaining a local presence through Petro Pala Engineering
Co., a Private Joint Stock Company, in partnership with Daray Pala Engineering
Co., Elmatco Engineering Co. and TAIM Canada.
In the Oil and Gas sector, it provided technical services, basic engineering,
detailed design, front-end engineering design for a multitude of projects
for NIOC, NISOC and NIGC.
In the Mining & Metallurgy sector, while working with clients such as
NICICO and IRALCO, SNC-Lavalin provided technical assistance, project management,
basic and detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and training
for a wide range of projects in the copper, sulfuric acid, lead, Zinc and
Aluminum industries.
In the Fertilizing sector, SNC-Lavalin is providing technology licensing and
Procurement services for the construction of Acid Phosphoric Plant.
Through Petro Pala engineering company, SNC-Lavalin is presently providing
technical assistance and advisory services for production optimization and
CO2 recovery to NISOC in Ahwaz.
In addition, SNC-Lavalin is actively involved in developing projects in the
Transportation sector, Water and Wastewater and Ports development.
